Assistant Professor

IIIS, Tsinghua University

I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences at Tsinghua University. I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University, and was a postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, a Student Researcher in the Market Algorithms Group at Google Research NYC.

My research lies at the intersection of Computer Science and Economics, and I am particularly interested in understanding the value of data and information. I explore various areas including data valuation, data markets, information elicitation, information aggregation, and information design

I am looking for self-motivated PhD students at Tsinghua University. If you are an undergraduate student at THU interested in the data aspect of AI, feel free to reach out as well!

Data Valuation for Machine Learning

Data is the fuel of Artificial Intelligence. Due to the high demand of high-quality data, recent years have witnessed a growing data marketplace where all kinds of platforms provide data services. A central question in this data marketplace is how to evaluate the data provided by an agent.

Information Elicitation and Aggregation

Human-generated data is playing an important rule in AI and e-commerce. Information elicitation aims to gather truthful information from self-interested agents and information aggregation refers to the problem of aggregating human-generated information into a more accurate prediction.

Information Design, Bayesian Persuasion

Living in the Information Age, the information they access heavily influences human behaviors and decisions. Bayesian persuasion studies the design of information disclosure mechanisms aiming to incentivize desired agent behavior.
